Gurley Court Docket Searches
Gurley sits inside Cheyenne County, and the county handles the judicial work. Municipal-ordinance violations, traffic matters, and misdemeanors all run through Cheyenne County Court. For a public case register, use JUSTICE Search and select Cheyenne County with County Court. A case at the higher trial-court level calls for District Court instead. No municipal judge appears anywhere in the village's official material. Nor does a city court address. There is no separate Gurley payment service either.
- Decide if the requested item is a Gurley village record or a court record. Use the village clerk for the former and the court system for the latter.
- Search JUSTICE by party name or known case information. Use the exact court-record spelling where possible, since the searched person must be a party rather than a witness.
- Select Cheyenne County and County Court for a traffic or municipal-ordinance matter. Use extra filters only when the result needs narrowing.
- Read Case Detail and the Register of Actions for the court, case type, current status, setting, and chronological events.
- Run the Multi-Court Case Calendar for a current or future date, then call County Court at 308-254-2929 when the matter is urgent or the citation is missing.
The public system lags, and protected or retained records may never show up there. One empty search result does not equal a no-record certificate.
Gurley Village and Court Clerks
The Village of Gurley does give residents a real local records channel. Its official resources page names Village Clerk Kim Bush. It lists the Village of Gurley at 736 3rd Street and PO Box 73, Gurley, NE 69141, and gives the village phone at 308-884-2213. That contact covers village ordinances, village requests, and administrative files. It is not the clerk for a court case. The courts sit in Sidney. County Court holds the everyday traffic tickets, municipal-ordinance matters, misdemeanors, and other county files. District Clerk Mindy Wiegand holds the District Court records. So a filing, a hearing question, a Register of Actions result, or a certified copy goes to the clerk whose court holds the case. Never send it to the Gurley Village Clerk.
| Question | Gurley channel | Court channel |
|---|---|---|
| Village ordinance or request | Village Clerk | Not a court search |
| Citation or court date | Village page does not supply it | County Court and state services |
| District Court pleading | Not held by the village | District Clerk |
Inside the Gurley Municipal Court
There is no separate Gurley Municipal Court. No official source names one. The village has a clerk and local resources. Its judicial route runs through the wider Cheyenne County court system. That is why a Gurley court docket search lands in Cheyenne County rather than at a village office. The Cheyenne County Court page is the authority. It places municipal-ordinance violations, traffic matters, and misdemeanors in County Court. Treat everything else with care. A village email, a community hall, or another local facility is a government contact point, not a courtroom. No official source names a Gurley judge, city docket, night session, warrant program, or local payment vendor. Rather than guess, confirm any citation-processing arrangement directly with County Court.
Gurley Resources Page and Court Records
Gurley's official resources page is dated March 17, 2026. It lists the village clerk plus an array of local services: a volunteer fire and rescue hall, a post office, a community hall, a campground, churches, businesses, and more. It paints a picture of a small town. What it does not do is function as a court directory, docket, or payment screen. The date-stamped village information works well for checking a local phone number or email. It does not read out a case result. It will not track a hearing. This distinction matters. Village records and judicial records often sit side by side in a search. The lines blur easily for someone new to it. A village email suits a village-government question, nothing more. Sending a court filing that way is not allowed. Paying a citation through the village is off the table too. The local District Clerk states this plainly: email is not a filing method. Any Cheyenne County court docket question belongs with the county court system instead.
Finding Gurley Court Dates
For Cheyenne County Court dates tied to Gurley cases, use the Multi-Court Case Calendar. It searches current and future settings by date or last name. Two characters is the last-name minimum. Select County Court and Cheyenne first. Always verify a calendar result against the latest Register of Actions entry. A hearing may have been reset.
| Date | The setting date from the current calendar or later court entry. |
|---|---|
| Time | The public hearing time, to be confirmed with the court before appearing. |
| Location | The posted court location, not a Gurley community facility. |
| Judge | The judge listed where the public court result supplies one. |
| Setting type | The court's event label for the listed hearing or proceeding. |
Gurley Community Hall and Court Settings
Gurley's community hall appears in the village resources. No record shows it as a courtroom. A local service listing can orient a visitor in town. It cannot confirm the time, place, or type of a Cheyenne County court setting. That information lives elsewhere. It sits in the court calendar fields, the Register of Actions, and the clerk's office. Resets make this matter. A continuance means a hearing was postponed or rescheduled. Check the most recent notice or register event before you go. An old date will not establish the new setting. Neither will a community event listing or the village page.
Gurley Traffic Ticket Lookups
Every Gurley traffic ticket gets filed with Cheyenne County Court. Search JUSTICE with the party name, the county, the court, and whatever case details you have. There is no special Gurley citation format. Use the number printed on the ticket exactly as it appears. The docket search may turn up nothing. Then call County Court at 308-254-2929 with the name and date you have.
The statewide Citation Payment page takes a citation number. It only works for waiverable tickets. Anything that requires an appearance has to go through the court itself. The Cheyenne County traffic court record page explains that court record and payment split in more depth.
Gurley Lost Ticket Court Steps
A lost ticket is a County Court problem. The Gurley Village Clerk cannot rebuild a court file for you. Start with a call to County Court. Once the court gives you the case information, take it to JUSTICE or the calendar to look up the docket. The public search may display a register. Still, it is no substitute for direct confirmation. That matters whenever a required appearance, a warrant issue, a payment question, or a recent event is on the line.
Before you pay, confirm the ticket is waiverable, then follow the statewide payment instructions. A payment entry and a court disposition are not the same thing. For the public sequence of events, the Register of Actions is the place to look.
How Gurley Cases Reach the County
Gurley itself keeps no court docket. The village government handles its own paperwork, but the cases go elsewhere. Ordinance violations, traffic matters, and misdemeanors land in Cheyenne County Court. Felonies move to District Court after a bind-over. Larger civil cases, domestic-relations matters, protection orders, and appeals from County Court go there too. The court level decides which clerk holds the file. It also decides which JUSTICE court selection you need for a docket search.
Docket flow: Gurley ordinance, citation, or local complaint › Cheyenne County Court Register of Actions › Cheyenne District Court for a matter that reaches the higher trial court
A County Court docket entry sometimes shows a transfer or bind-over. That entry is not the whole story. Follow the case into District Court, since the receiving docket holds the later history rather than the original one.
Gurley Kiosk Court Record Route
No village court portal? Access still exists. The courthouse in Sidney has a free public JUSTICE kiosk by the District Clerk office. It gives anyone a local way to review public court records without paying for a one-time online search or a subscriber account. Remember two limits, though. The kiosk cannot open sealed or confidential records, and it cannot replace a clerk-certified copy.
If you would rather go online, a one-time JUSTICE search costs $17 and returns up to 30 cases for three calendar days. Subscriber Details cost $2. Either route can show public case detail, parties, cost information, payments, the Register of Actions, and qualifying images. For a record that is not online or one that needs official certification, use the clerk.

Who Can See Gurley Court Records
Nebraska court rules open electronic access to a wide range of material. That includes party indexes, case summaries, registers of actions, available images, calendars, and judgments or orders. The rules have teeth, though. Juvenile cases, adoptions, sealed files, and protected personal or financial details stay out of an ordinary public search. Even so, a public docket entry can exist. A confidential attachment can stay hidden from view.
When you ask the clerk for a copy, give the court level. Give the case number or year, the party or caption, and the exact document you want. State policy lets staff search with a full party name plus a case year or case type. Staff will not certify that a search came up empty. Ask whether a public, redacted, or certified copy fits what you need.
Key Rules:
Neb. Rev. Stat. §84-712 provides the state's general public-record access framework.
Neb. Ct. R. §1-805 describes public electronic court information such as registers and calendars.
Neb. Ct. R. §2-215 excludes sealed and confidential material from ordinary public access.
Gurley Court Record Copies
Start by sorting the Gurley record into its two halves. Village matters, such as an ordinance question or a local-service issue, go to the Gurley Village Clerk. Anything judicial belongs to the court clerk in Sidney. That covers a Gurley citation, a court date, or a case disposition. The village keeps its administrative file apart from the judicial case file, so the split matters.
A Gurley village request stands on its own. That does not imply Gurley has a separate court docket. The village clerk can help with administrative records. But the village cannot certify a court docket or a court disposition. For a document you spot in the Register of Actions, take that identification to the correct court clerk. Ask there for the public or certified copy you need.
District Court pleadings run through the District Clerk records request route. It handles electronic, in-office, mailed, and certified delivery. Emailed copies that are publicly available cost nothing. Paper runs $0.25 per page, a mailed request adds postage, and certification adds $1 per pleading. County Court records sit with the County Court clerk instead.
Give the clerk what makes a Gurley court-copy request work: the party or caption, the case year, the court level, and the document title. If no Gurley result turns up online, simply ask the appropriate clerk. Ask whether a public or redacted copy can be provided.
